I encourage the Province to step back and consider the needs of citizens, before launching ahead with projects and programs devised consultants, bureaucrats and special interests.

Delta South MLA Vicki Huntington will present four Queen's Diamond Jubilee Medals this Saturday to recognize outstanding local accomplishments to the community.

The medal is awarded to individuals that have improved the well-being of their community and represent Canada's mosaic of individual experiences and accomplishments.

Local dignitaries will take part in Christmas service

Delta South MLA Vicki Huntington, Mayor Lois Jackson and Delta police Chief Jim Cessford will add their voices to a historic Christmas service at All Saints Anglican Church in Ladner this Sunday.

The service of Lessons and Carols retells the story of the nativity through selected readings from the Bible, interspersed with traditional carols.

The tree lighting ceremony, the hay wagon carolers, the parade and the decorated boats were a huge success last weekend largely due to a team of dedicated volunteers and willing workers who donate their time and efforts each year to help celebrate one of Ladner's most beautiful traditions.
